Using Crop Image
Remove unwanted areas around a picture by choosing the region to keep. Cropping is useful for trimming borders from a screenshot, focusing on a subject, or changing a composition without stretching it. It does not remove an object that remains inside the selected region.
Worked example
For a 1200 × 800 image, a crop beginning at x=100 and y=50 with width=900 and height=600 keeps the rectangle from that starting position. Coordinates are measured from the top-left corner. Check the preview and downloaded file to confirm that the subject and any required labels remain inside the crop.
What to check and what this tool cannot do
Cropping permanently excludes the discarded area from the exported copy, but does not modify your original file on disk. It is not a redaction tool for content inside the kept area. A crop cannot add detail, reconstruct missing pixels, or guarantee removal of file metadata. Values outside the image boundaries can give unexpected framing.
Getting a useful result
Leave room around important text and faces, especially if another service will crop the result again. For a required square or banner, choose a region with the appropriate proportions, then resize the result to the required pixels. Inspect the exported image before uploading or sharing it.
Where processing happens
Developer and text tools process input in your browser. PDF and image tools may attempt local conversion and use server processing when local conversion is unavailable. Website requests and usage analytics are separate from the content you enter. Large files can exceed your device’s available memory. See how tools work and our privacy policy.
